"It's official now," Finley told ESPN.com after verbally committing to Boston. "I'm soon to be a Celtic."
Finley, who turns 37 Saturday, requested and received a buyout from the San Antonio Spurs earlier this week, freeing him to sign with a title contender while maintaining his playoff eligibility.I only have one thing to say, and that is that I refuse to assess this deal until I see anything that Finley might have impacted. His veteran presence might help, it might not. He might be able to light it up even at this age, he might not. But the state of this team has been vacillating constantly throughout the year, there's no use cluttering this deal up with a bunch of predictions and guesses.
So all in all, the only thing we can really say right now is, welcome Michael Finley!
